Author: PoetessLaureate

I am a writer, counselor, and student of human behavior with a particular fascination for the unseen forces that organize our lives. My work combines psychology, field theory, complexity theory, attachment, and personal reflection to explore how people become who they are, how they change, and how they become entangled in one another’s stories. Psychological Cartography is my ongoing effort to map the terrain of the mind and the relational fields we inhabit. Through essays, poetry, and original concepts, I explore topics such as emotional contagion, projective identification, identity formation, social influence, and the hidden architectures of human connection. This is a place for curiosity, reflection, and the search for deeper coherence.

Maniacal Ascension

Searching inside…

Now desire awake!

Almost better to see it in a dormant state.

Almost… but not quite

A maniacal ascension blinds the sight

Though immeasurably pleasurable

Danger it will bring!

The compulsion

The obsession

The voices sing!

… and they plan to bring down everything

You made me feel

I love the way you loved me

It set the precedence

For any other future love must be equivalent and nothing less

I was in a dark place when you found me

Isolated, lonely…

…and dangling on the edge of insanity

Only your extended hand pulled me back from the precipice

Where I planned to fall into the abyss that I had been marching toward forever

I felt almost human

I felt almost whole

Yet my soul still too tortured to play this role

My perspective so askew

Doubt I could see it the way you view

But you made me feel something I never knew

I laugh at my resilience

I laugh at my resilience!

At my willingness to try

You see…

I am not dead inside

There still lights a spark in me

Apparently…

I am not some hardened shell that cannot bend or breathe

I am a tangible, emotional, human being
