Can I rest my head on your shoulder?

You gave me tender loving care

In a weakened state I let my sore heart bleed out to you

You did not push me away

You pulled me near

Like an angel you absorbed the pain

I could not contain

You were the rock

I was paper thin

Psychologically damaged

Tortured within

But with you…

I could breathe again

It’s grueling.. it hurts…

It hurts to put on this statuesque display

To conceal my heart beating out of my chest

My blood pressure rising

I pretend that it’s no sweat

I want to jump into your arms

Yet you are not there to catch me anymore

Such a chore to give this stoney face to the one I used to adore

We used to whisper sweet nothings

Now there’s nothing left

No one to console

As I timidly approach

..looking deep into your eyes

I now see how far we have grown

Absolutely nothing could make me happy

There is a deeper darkness lingering

An emptiness eating slowly away

A melancholy aura beneath a hovering grey cloud

The mood ominous, all encompassing

.. but the intentions a mysterious shroud

Stealing every moment’s pleasure…

Leaving me unable to transcend

A frightening blow in the spiritual realm

No light

The light went out of her eyes

… and it was not much of a surprise

It had built and compounded it self gradually

Dramatic living

In traumatic experiences

Leaves a soul shattered in pieces

Yet to piece them together.. you see

The insanity that has been reaped

…And a delicate line breached

My Perception of Seeing

Looking at you as if for the first time

I sense something there

No recollection seeing it before

This certain aura

A certain air…

A humanity, a mysterious, vulnerable being

Behind the theatrics on display

There in the shadows

Lingering…

A golden epiphany

Collecting the fragmented pieces

Connecting them like a puzzle

Allowing me to see

It is not he who changed..

..but my perception of seeing
