No one could ever break my heart, because I never expected love.

And it was not obsession.
Something much darker and regressive braided the threads of our individuality together to form a fantastical beast.
But I do not have to play into the fantasy.
I’m actually free, to do as I please.
Are you looking for more independence or are you simply looking to be held?
There is no right or wrong answer. Technically.
Does my presence destabilize your equilibrium? Then, no amount of care will convert our bond into a growth alliance.
The narrator may be unstable, however, the arc that this poem follows is actually very coherent. This is no villain monologue. There’s no justification and no blame shifting.
Just a field note from an individual with turbulence dependence
The regulator that refuses sentimentality.
It is post-illusion post-fixation, and post-drama. Here, disillusionment is in the foreground rather than structure.
All will be kept in perpetual recalibration as this cosmic force stabilizes.
