Silk, Before the Severing

A shade nocturnal in the midnight court.

Obsidian chains making sinister music as the procession approaches from the rear.

After issuing countless condemnations, she grows bored.

Finally, her eyes gently close as she drifts into picturesque reverie.

Subsumed by the Mirror

The mirror is not good or bad, it’s simply neutral.

No harm in staying for bit, or being flattered by the reflection. But you don’t stay there. You don’t live in it and let it consume you.

Remember the difference between the puppet and the puppeteer.

Boundaries Intact

Self-coherence does not chase recognition.

It breeds boundaries that are assertive, without being hostile.

Differentiating between autonomy and aggression.

It holds. Quietly.

An Autonomous Being

It was not love.
And it was not obsession.

Something much darker and regressive braided the threads of our individuality together to form a fantastical beast.

But I do not have to play into the fantasy.

I’m actually free, to do as I please.
