Remove the Rose Colored Glasses

A chaotic scene laid out before me

As if some devilish, whirlwind through

Upending all my precious valuable views

The beautiful field of flowers…

Now- thorny, threadbare roots

The majestic purple skies

Ashen grey, covered in soot

Even my own reflection

I could not compute

Perception askew in the matter which way I view

Seems something sinister has wiggled its way in-

Disrupting my awareness, and my patience grows thin

Thinner than a single silk strand whisked like feathers in the wind

All my preconceived conceptions all my preconceived conceptions blown away on a whim

Transforming the feelings, the taste, the touch,

What I see…

Confounding and unfolding asa mystery

I cannot help but to look at it cynically

Like the glass half full

Is now the glass half empty

With the water I thirst for, drowning me

The bright nourishing Sun

Now my enemy

Blinding my vision

Yet I cannot unsee
