Author: PoetessLaureate

I am a writer, counselor, and student of human behavior with a particular fascination for the unseen forces that organize our lives. My work combines psychology, field theory, complexity theory, attachment, and personal reflection to explore how people become who they are, how they change, and how they become entangled in one another’s stories. Psychological Cartography is my ongoing effort to map the terrain of the mind and the relational fields we inhabit. Through essays, poetry, and original concepts, I explore topics such as emotional contagion, projective identification, identity formation, social influence, and the hidden architectures of human connection. This is a place for curiosity, reflection, and the search for deeper coherence.

Remove the Rose Colored Glasses

A chaotic scene laid out before me

As if some devilish, whirlwind through

Upending all my precious valuable views

The beautiful field of flowers…

Now- thorny, threadbare roots

The majestic purple skies

Ashen grey, covered in soot

Even my own reflection

I could not compute

Perception askew in the matter which way I view

Seems something sinister has wiggled its way in-

Disrupting my awareness, and my patience grows thin

Thinner than a single silk strand whisked like feathers in the wind

All my preconceived conceptions all my preconceived conceptions blown away on a whim

Transforming the feelings, the taste, the touch,

What I see…

Confounding and unfolding asa mystery

I cannot help but to look at it cynically

Like the glass half full

Is now the glass half empty

With the water I thirst for, drowning me

The bright nourishing Sun

Now my enemy

Blinding my vision

Yet I cannot unsee

a little Variety

What a boring world that this would be

If everyone were just like me

I need a little variety

A little intrigue

A little mystery

Something to pique my interest

Make me see another angle

Show me what I have been missing

Show me something new

Learn, as I have been yearning to

I would not know

If not for you

And you, and you

I will take in all the valuable experiences

Things that matter

That make a difference

To bring the synapses connections together

In reverence

Black Crushed Velvet

Purple skies

Silver moon

Swoon under the stars

Into a mysterious, shrouded, reverie

Delectable thoughts of you

Crooning husky whispers in my ear

Drawing me near

Making my heart beat

Frantically in fear

Pounding out of my chest

Faster and faster

Short of breath

Helpless…

I laugh at my resilience

No stress

Is it a nightmare?

Or reality?

Fall into the canopy of darkness

The void feels so soft and comforting

Baby Dragon

The dragon came out and thrashed about again

My age old friend

Destructive and comforting simultaneously

Can only be contained temporarily

Like hot boiling water spilling over the top

Like precious fruit left out to rot

Like a shadow only cast certain times of the day

How to anticipate the comings and goings when my autonomy goes astray?

Is a question I have pondered many days

So Sinister

I lifted my rose colored glasses

…and saw a chaotic scene

There once were displayed beautiful flowers

There were now rotting, matted, gnarled roots

The majestic blue sky

Now seemingly covered in soot

Even my own reflection

I could not compute

Something so sinister

That has somehow wiggled it’s way in

Disrupting my perception

…and my patience grows thin
