Sweet Nothing

Empty words you feed to me

Yet I still crave, so hungrily

For sustenance

For nourishment

For solidity

In these blind statements

Please do not say

What you will not do

Who will break my fall?

If not you?

How much more can I wait?

Wait so patiently…

For poetic words to set me free

For the promises to redeem me

For a foolish heart.. to believe in me

Chemistry Unforeseen

What a blessing for a lonely soul

The synapses connections in our hearts

Ringing off the charts

Right from the very start

Such a treat to indulge

So I plunge in with great exurberance

The energy is electric

No static

The unspoken gestures naturally made clear

No need for doubt

No fear

… and judging by your stare

You over-stand

Receptive to Future Blessings

Sometimes one must part with beloved things to make room for future blessings

It is hard without a doubt to perceive this in the moment

Just like it takes time to become acclimated to new things

It also takes time to grieve when said, “new things” depart

I am making room in my heart by discarding the last remnants of you

It is not an easy thing to do

Coup De Grace

You knew the wounded animal you were dealing with

You pretended to understand

To fulfill your own purpose

You took my hand

I trusted you, though apprehensively

I wanted it to be true

So I brought down the walls, for you

With my hands open wide

Now the scourge is flooding through

I regret opening up

Letting my weaknesses be known

Just to be destroyed and overthrown
